Free Office Software

Free Office? Yes you can have Microsoft Office compatible software for free that are easier to use than Microsoft Office 2007. Make PowerPoint style presentations, write documents, keep accounts on spreadsheets and on top you save over 300 pounds on Office 2007. Although many of you wll have heard of Open Office, there are now several offices suites available for free.

Microsoft - Office Accounting Software 2008

Amazing, yes the chaps at Microsoft are not all bad! We moan and gripe out their high price tags but they make software that is so easy to use - er . well mostly. They have this wonderfull free business software that dovetails nicely with Office. You need to have WORD 2002 or later but it really is free. It is great for billing, inventories, stock and keeping a client database. Really it has all you need for a small business. IBM Lotus Symphony - Office Software

For Lotus Symphony click here =>Free Office. Another possible replacement for Microsoft Office. It has apparently now won some awards, so probably worth a look.IBM is kind of the computer industry in person and so give their stuff a try. Best of all is the price tag and the back up of a company like IBM. . Note: This file is on IBM's Lotus Symphony site, but be prepared for 3 or 4 pages of web before you get it.File Size 196 MB

NVU - Web Page Edition

Download NVU here. Any one up for free web editing. The chaps at NVU are looking out for us and saving us dosh! You can save hundreds on dreamweaver, of course with Macromedia you need a large bank account, and a little less with Microsoft's new Web Expression. Did you download it, well done you just saved 150 pounds at least. It's got it all, WYSIWYG etc but not quite a rival to Dreamweaver, alas my trial has run out and I'm back to notepad. Still in the interests of free software, go on and download it anyway. File Size 6.58 MB.

Scribus - Desk Top Publication

Download Scribus here. Not too sure about this one, but the idea is great and it's free! It is a desk top publishing application. The feel of it is a bit awkward and I found it difficult to get to grips with. However if you use it you will save 200 pounds on a fully licensed version of Microsoft's monster app publisher. Why not try the FREE VERSION. File Size 20.15 MB.

Open Office - Office Software

Download Open Office. I personally don't like using this much, probably too used to Microsoft Office. However no one can deny its usefull and robust design. You can save over 300 pounds on the price of a professional version of Microsoft Office or 100 pounds on the home or student version. Usefull things like inbuilt PDF file handling comes as standard, so you save 300 on Adobe Acrobat Professional too! It has a drawing program, word processor, presentation software, spreadsheet and additional animation software. Check out the spin offs that everyone is talking about like Go-OO and others.
